The examples of Balu and Ted are only two of the many cases of proof for how bears have made film history. Be it the small and clumsy movie hero, man´s best friend, or the terrifying threat - the bear has a multifaceted acting repertoire. But which bears will manage the leap all the way to the top? How do they present themselves and how much of their bear-ish characteristics can they maintain? In short, how much bear is there in movie bears?
