Beti und Amare
Andy Siege
Ethiopia 1936: The young Beti flees from Mussolini’s invading troops of out of town to the remote backcountry where her grandfather lives. In a small hut, both are seeking refuge from a world that will soon be at war. But even here, Beti is not protected against dangers: native soldiers harrass the young woman more and more, supplies are scarce, as the goat of the grandfather dies. Beti und Amare by director Andy Siege, who frequently works in Frankfurt, is already a special film because it tells the pre-war events from a different perspective and shows how the war in every corner of the world leads to changes. But that's not all. The historical drama turns into a science fiction movie, as Beti unexpectedly gets help from another world!
