Drei Leben lang
Felicitas Korn
An orphaned boy searches for stability, a cocaine dealer navigates through Frankfurt's drug scene, and a severe alcoholic yearns for love. Three lives, three paths.
Initially, the film was meant to be called Partynation. With Drei Leben Lang, Offenbach-born Felicitas Korn chose a title that, unintentionally, also reflects the journey of her own film: First came the screenplay. Then, she published the material as an acclaimed novel. Finally, she brought the film to life herself as director.
The film was deliberately shot in and around Frankfurt am Main – partly for biographical reasons, but above all else, it was because the stark contrasts of the city on the Main give the story its resonance.
The unfamiliar locations used offer new perspectives on the city, beyond the familiar images of Frankfurt.
Three lives. Three fates. And one film that ties it all together.
