Endless Cookie
Seth Scriver, Peter Scriver
The Scrivers are a colourful bunch: all of them storytellers, dreamers, artists, troublemakers, dog lovers and members of the Cree First Nation. When Seth, the white half-brother of family man Pete, comes to visit, he wants to record their stories to use them in his animated film. But a full house is hardly the most pleasant setting for sound recordings, as creative chaos reigns everywhere – and on top of that, the teepee needs to be rebuilt.
Amidst the tangle of phone calls, conversations, digressions and interruptions, the deep-seated wounds of Canadian colonialism are revealed; but so too are the incredibly close family ties of the Scrivers.
Working closely with their family, Seth and Pete Scriver have created a work of surreal aesthetic appeal, from which reality nevertheless emerges, at certain moments, with uncanny clarity and comprehensibility. The meta-humour, the documentary-style photography and the variety of stories bring you so close to the Scrivers that, after the film, you feel as though you’ve visited their home yourself. Go to the cinema and just hang out.

Press reviews
"Elongated noses, like wrinkly pickles or deflated balloons, protrude from the faces of the comically offbeat characters in the zany, rambling and historically relevant animated documentary Endless Cookie [...] Pete’s laugh is infectious, and without saying the words, his hearty chuckles (often in unison with Seth) express an admirable “such is life” attitude. [...] he can turn the most irrelevant-seemingly piece of insular lore into a funny bit that invites the listener to take the burden of existence less seriously, while never ignoring the past." (Carlos Aguilar for Variety)
"The humor comes from the raw but vibrant animation, of the sort you might see on an Adult Swim short. [...] The film breaks from animation whenever a character shows a picture on their phone or in an album, instances in which we see the real people; it’s surprisingly poignant to see how they’ve been represented in cartoon form in ways that instantly capture their spirit." (Daniel Fienberg for The Hollywood Reporter)
