Experimental Short Films: David versus Goliath
A programme of short films curated by Karola Gramann, Heide Schlüpmann and Gunter Deller will explore various facets of art and cinema at the DFF cinema to mark the end of the festival.
Films by Helga Fanderl, Bruce Conner, Dore O., Werner Nekes, Gunter Deller, Jürgen Böttcher and Derek Jarman bring art to life on screen and demonstrate how film can be used to articulate perspectives that challenge conventional market logic.
“The art and cultural industries are driving a process of dehistoricisation and dematerialisation of art by elevating it to stardom and market value. This programme presents short films that resist this trend; through their independence, they subversively reintroduce artworks and artists as physical entities into our everyday world, or continue to give them a space within their external reality.” (Heide Schlüpmann)
