Fat Years Of Fatmull
Maxi Buck
The fat years are over – but are they really? The four boys of the North Hessian metal band Fatmull only have two options: to quit or to take off. It is evident that the dream of the life as a musician is not going realize itself solely by being talented. In the course of band rehearsals, day jobs, festival performances and flubbed studio recordings, it becomes clear that they must pull together in order to keep the band and their friendship alive.
Rough music meddles with quick temper, sparks fly on the personal level. But particlularly remarkable are the tender, emotional moments between the young men. You don't have to be a metal fan to root for Fatmull.
After 49 Problems (and my future is one), director Maxi Buck presents his second documentary film at LICHTER and examines closely the vibrant North Hessian music scene. With his self-taught means, he shows an intimate portrait of young artists, resonating with both the tough and the gentle tones.
