In Search of the Lost Cinematic Image
Panel
In a world virtually mapped by moving images, director Linus de Paoli and cinematographer Johannes Thomsen embark on a spontaneous and cinematographic research trip through Hessen. Equipped with an 8mm camera, the two set out to prove that it is possible to find cinematic images in the truest sense of the word with the simplest means and in unexpected places. Analog projection, as far as we can tell, will also play a role. On our end, we look forward to gaining insights into the work of film historian and archivist Christoph Draxtra
Klára Feikusová has developed a theoretical perspective on the intersection between cinema and television in her research paper "The Cinematisation of TV". She responds to the industry's proclamation of bringing "cinema" to streaming by taking her own categories out of observation and finding her own vocabulary.
