Teenager Salvatore's horizons are not very wide. Every day he sells soft drinks and ice with his father in the brutal Neapolitan summer heat . An initially very unpleasant job makes a change: For the local Mafia boss he is to guard the somewhat younger Veronica for one day in a gigantic, abandoned school building.
