Love Sarah (Love Sarah - Liebe ist die wichtigste Zutat)

Eliza Schroeder

Sarah’s dream is about to come true: Opening her own bakery. When she dies unexpectedly, her best friend and business partner Isabella, her daughter Clarissa and her mother Mimi are left behind. Three women for whom suddenly nothing is the same as it was. Until they decide to keep Sarah’s legacy alive together.

Love Sarah is not a classical romance, but a film on love and being together – in big things as well as in little ones. It’s about the little gestures that convey a sense of security and turn a place into a home. Eliza Schroeders feature film debut is exquisite British cinema in a romantic-eccentric style à la Love Actually andNotting Hill, garnished with a touch of Paddington Bär. Not least thanks to its Cast.„Olivier Award“ winner Cilia Imrie („Best Exotic Marigold Hotel“and „Mamma Mia“) plays resolute Grandma Mimi and Bill Paterson (Fleabag), who was awarded the BAFTA Award for „Outstanding Contribution To Film & Television“ plays unconventional but charming inventor Felix in a supporting role.

Love Sarah is a English-German coproduction; it was financially supported by HessenFilm und Medien. The film was shot in London, Frankfurt-based Neopol Film took care of postproduction, and FunDeMental Studios contributed the sound. The world-première took place as part of Glasgow Film Festival – at LICHTER, Love Sarah will celebrate its grand international première. By the way, the bakery produce props were provided by British-Israeli restaurant owner and cookbook author Yotam Ottolenghi. In times of Brexit, there could be no better declaration of love to London’s cultural diversity.
