The banking crisis is an odd thing. Nobody has properly understood it. Economics is neither an elective subject at school nor part of general education. Or did you know about the importance of a rating agency before the crisis? Did you know terms such as short sale, asset-backed securities, Euro bonds or fiscal pact? No? The problem of the crisis was its complexity. Nice that there are movies like "Master of the Universe," which raise awareness. The plot: An empty, abandoned bank building in Frankfurt am Main, in whose walls a drop-out from the banking world describes in large images even the greater crisis. From his viewpoint, Rainer Voss, who easily handled millions in his hay days, talks about what really happens in the glittering world of finance. In 2013, the film won the Semaine de la Critique competition at the Festival del Film Locarno.
