Meet Me in the Bathroom

For those who are familiar with names like LCD Soundsystem, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Moldy Peaches, The Strokes, TV on the Radio, Interpol and The Rapture, the movie is a must-see! This documentary of private recordings by Julian Casablancas (The Strokes), Nick Zinner (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), paired with interviews and concert footage, is a nostalgic homage to the New York music scene of the early 2000s. Based on the book of the same name by Lizzy Goodman, the film talks about how the youth culture of the 1990s is experiencing the dawn of the new era. Technological, physical, and cultural change has a lasting impact on society. The Lower Eastside, still crisscrossed by empty buildings and forgotten backyards, becomes a playground for the alternative scene. Between political events like 9/11 and advancing gentrification, subculture finds its place in places like Sidewalk Café and CBGB. Legends have remained unforgettable to this day.
