No broadcaster, no funding – no compromises?

Fueled by the passion of wildly determined creatives,
more and and more films are being made outside of
state financing structures – often in marginalized
ways and rejected by the establishment, but in some
cases with great success.

Private investors, microbudgets or even the interna-
tional market appear to be more promising agents of
fulfillment, especially in the area of genre films and
artistically daring works.

The panel will discuss the freedoms and hurdles in-
volved in circumventing funding guidelines and the
public’s taste. And while we're at it: does a film even
need a nationality?
