Pecore in Erba (Burning Love)

Alberto Caviglia

The whole of Italy is in uproar – Leonardo Zuliani has disappeared! As a successful caricaturist, fashion designer and iconic author Zuliani is a person of public interest. First and foremost, however, he is an avowed anti-Semite who plays out his phantasy of violence in comic strips and games. His mission as a “human rights activist” is the battle against “Anti-Semi-phobics,” the critics of anti-Semitism. In a cutting-ironical, exorbitantly exaggerated mockumentary, *Alberto Caviglia* dares to expose intolerance, racism, and rhetoric of outrage in the media. Numerous Italian stars appear in this pseudo-documentary as Zuliani’s contemporaries. They draw an alarmingly contemporary picture of a man filled with hatred. At the *Venice Film Festival*, this bold satire has been awarded the *Premio Arca Cinema Giovani* for Best Italian Film. *Music:* Pasquale Catalano *In the presence of Alberto Caviglia*

_“Part of what makes the film so clever is the way Cavaglia reveals the hollowness of ‘tolerance,’ knowing that beneath this overused word lies an ocean of prejudice. Sadly, the timing is ideal for the film, given the amount of chauvinism unapologetically spouted by so many of the world’s politicians these days.”_ Jay Weissberg, Variety
