Schrotten!

Max Zähle

“Schrotten” does not only describe the process of deconstructing an end product; above all, it means not to submit to anybody, not to kneel before anybody. At least in the opinion of salvage yard clan Talhammer that is on the brink of financial ruin after the accidental death of patriarch Fiete. Hence, a trainload of copper from archenemy and competitor Kercher comes in handy. Only too bad they possess the brawn, but not necessarily the brains to undertake mission “train robbery.” Only long-lost son Mirko would be able to help, but he is rather interested in selling the salvage yard as quickly as possible. *_Schrotten!_* the film debut by *Oscar-nominated director* *Max Zähle*, co-produced by the *hr*, is a wild mix of comedy, Hamburg Western and milieu film à la Guy Ritchie's Snatch and can also put forward a great cast including *Lucas Gregorowicz* *_(Lammbock)_* and *Frederick Lau* *_(Victoria)_*. In 2012, director *Max Zähle* received an *Oscar nomination* for his short film *_Raju_* for *best non-animated short film*. Already in 2011, he was able to pocket the *bronze student Oscar* for the film. Besides episodes of *_Großstadtrevier_*, Zähle also realized music videos, amongst others for *Samba* and *Teamsport*. With *_Schrotten!_*, Zähle presents an impressive cinema debut which was chosen right away for the *pre-selection of the Deutsche Filmpreis* for *Best Feature Film*.
