SIn & Illy Still Alive
Maria Hengge
The 18-year-old Sin lands back on the road after a failed drug detox. Between the red lights and the drug scene close to the Frankfurt Bahnhofsviertel [area around the main station] no hope seems to be left until an advertisement inspires Sin to a brilliant idea: Together with her friend Illy, who is on the game to finance her habit, she wants to settle on a Greek island to get clean on their own. What starts as a good plan, ends before the pair reaches the airport. And while Illy doubts whether she will ever be able to escape the drug swamp, Sin recognizes that she has to confront her problems - alone. Maria Hengge approaches the difficult issue without prejudice and victim stereotyping, instead focuses on the unvarnished truth: Next to the hip party scene near the station there exists a parallel society, affected and repressed by aggressive drug dealings.
