Tell Me What You Feel

Tell Me What You Feel

(Powiedz mi, co czujesz)

Łukasz Ronduda

Patryk struggles to find success with his art. His amateur-like drawings are too confrontational - they capture his traumatic childhood and his parents' issues. To make ends meet, he works in a cinema and sells mass-produced paintings of Softboy Jesus, but painting is an ungrateful muse.

In a gallery, he meets Maria, who buys people's tears for an art project, and sparks fly between them. A relationship begins as only Gen Z can have it: informed by self-psychologising, commitment issues and careful vulnerability. Amidst a Warsaw summer, they try to bloom and confront their familial traumas - convinced that art is the best kind of therapy.

Firmly rooted in the contemporary art scene in Poland as a scientist and curator, Łukasz Ronduda offers a compassionate but not uncritical look at the creative process of a young artist, for whom art becomes a mouthpiece. Framed by a playful love story, art reveals itself as a common language and an emotional outlet.

Press reviews

"Having been overexploited lately, the concept of therapy through art has turned into a cliché, no matter if it appears as a narrative motif in an artwork or if the artwork itself serves a therapeutic function. Łukasz Ronduda’s third fiction feature [...] covers both bases, but instead of nurturing the cliché, it questions it. [...] Eventually, we are left with an emotionally saturated yet finely wrought romantic drama, where catharsis and meaning go hand in hand." (Mariana Hristova for cineuropa)
