MEIN VATER – EINE REISE *_WORLD PREMIERE_* *DOCUMENTARY, D 2016* *56 MINS.* Leonard was only three years old when his father Dirk died of cancer 23 years ago. Together with four friends, he embarks on a journey that will take him across Europe and on to America to find out who this man had been. Leonard meets old friends and family members of his father, the memories are at times very faded and at others they appear to be vivid memory to the conversation partners. But one thing they always are: authentic. Bit by bit the fascinating image gradually emerges of a man, who had been little more than a big question mark in the life of his son. The film is a road movie into the past and is at the same time the sensitive portrait of a young man on the search for traces and meaning. *DIRECTOR:* Leonard Rottok, *PRODUCTION:* Pamina Dittmann, *DOP:* Max Engel, Marco Müller, *EDITOR:* Martin Langhof, *STARRING:* Leonard Rottok, Milena Rottok, Pamina Dittmann et al. h2.
