The climate scientist Phoebe Phaidon is new at the Institute for Cybernetics of the Berlin university. But her workplace is soon in danger: the turbo-capitalist university administration wants to close the institution. Only the successful evaluation of a project funded by a third party on the virtual simulation of climate change can avert the saving measures. Soon, Phoebe is torn between the established teachers and the rebelling students.
Is an academic career still viable these days? To answer this question, the director Max Linz from Frankfurt has made the film for decision making. Subversive, absurdly comic and almost ending as a musical, the satire on the university apparatus, debunks the neo-liberal machinery of research sciences.
After the art scene parody Ich will mich nicht künstlich aufregen, Max Linz‘ new film celebrated its world premiere at the Forum of the Berlinale 2019.
