WILDE MAUS

Josef Hader

Kings are treated with utmost courtesy! At least, this is Georg's (*JOSEF HADER*) view, whom has been an established music critic at a Viennese newspaper for decades. But then, surprisingly, he is given notice by his chief editor (*JÖRG HARTMANN*): austerity measures. Avid for revenge, he conceals his sacking to his younger wife, Johanna (*PIA HIERZEGGER*), whose thoughts revolve around nothing but her next ovulation and getting pregnant. He finds an ally in his former classmate Erich (*GEORG FRIEDRICH*), whom is helping Georg in his newly won free time helps fixing a ramshackle roller coaster at the Viennese Prater. Georg's nightly revenge campaigns against his former chief begin with minor property damage and step up to ever increasing terror. Soon his bourgeois life spins completely out of control... The premiere took place at the Berlinale 2017, where the film was invited to the competition for the *"GOLDENER BÄR"*. _"Elegant, consequent, perfectly genre-mashing social grotesque [...] entertaining and furiously funny"_ DIE WELT
