Call for Entries: 8th LICHTER VR Storytelling Award
As part of the 17th Lichter Filmfest from April 16 to 21, 2024, for the eighth time, an award for the best narrative VR experience will be handed out. For the first time this year, not only linear 360° videos can be submitted, but also interactive, real-time rendered VR experiences that approach the medium in a narrative, documentary and, above all, in an experimental way exploring innovative visual strategies.
From now until January 31, 2024, linear 360° films as well as VR Experiences that can be played on a Meta Quest 1 can be submitted. From all submissions, an independent jury will select the five best works and select the winner. LICHTER will then present the five VR Experiences as VR Finalists to its audience, and the winner will be announced at the end of the festival. In addition to a cash prize, there is of course also the cherished Bembel trophy, which should not be missing from any ambitious film and media creator's shelf.
The winners of the previous VR Storytelling Awards are Alexandre Perez (2017 with "Sergeant James“), Pierre Zandrowicz (2018 with „I, Philip“), Benoit Felici (2019 with „The Real Thing“), Dmitri Voloshin (2020 with „Aripi“), Jonathan Hagard (2021 with "Replacements"), Nicolas Gebbe (2022 with "Lockdown Dreamscape VR") and Felix Gaedtke & Gayatri Parameswaran (2023 with "You Destroy. We create").
