ABOVE THE ROOFS, IN THE HEART OF THE CITY: HIGH RISE CINEMA

Thirteen evenings, three rooftop terraces, one city: For the third edition of HIGH RISE CINEMA, our traveling cinema made its way from the shared rooftop terrace of the Parks and Recreation Department and the Department of Road Construction and Development, past the TaunusTurm, and on to the OpernTurm.

Frankfurt is one of the few European cities whose skyline so strongly shapes the image and perception of the city. This unique high-rise landscape serves as the starting point for HIGH RISE CINEMA: From ever-changing locations, the screen, architecture, and city come together, offering constantly shifting perspectives on Frankfurt and on cinema.

From July 23 to August 16, 2026, we screened current films, classics, and anniversary celebrations from film history. Interest was enormous: All screenings sold out in less than an hour.
