SO MAI 3 I CINEMA AT DFF I 20:15 I CURATED BY KAROLA GRAMANN, HEIDE SCHLÜPMANN AND GUNTER DELLER

A short film programme curated by Karola Gramann, Heide Schlüpmann and Gunter Deller explores various facets of art and cinema. Featuring films by Helga Fanderl (MONA LISA, 2000), Bruce Conner, Dore O. / Werner Nekes (BEUYS, 1981), Gunter Deller (WINTERJUNE, 2014), Jürgen Böttcher (A SHORT VISIT TO HERMANN GLÖCKNER, 1985) and Derek Jarman (STUDIO BANKSIDE, 1972), art is brought into focus and demonstrates how film can be used to articulate positions of resistance to prevailing market logic:

“The art and cultural industries are driving a process of dehistoricisation and dematerialisation of art by elevating it to media stardom and market value. This programme brings together short films that resist this trend; through their very independence, they subversively reintroduce artworks and artists as physical entities into our everyday world, or continue to give them a space within this external reality of theirs.” (Heide Schlüpmann)
