New, Old Festival Centre: Volksbühne im Großen Hirschgraben
LICHTER Filmfest Frankfurt International is back at the Cantate Hall. From April 21 to 26, 2020, the festival centre will reside at the Volksbühne im Großen Hirschgraben.
Two years after the "Frankfurt Positions" were developed, the congress "Future German Cinema" will also take place here on April 23 and 24.
In 2015, the LICHTER Festival Centre had already been a guest at the Cantate Hall. After extensive renovation measures, the Volksbühne im Großen Hirschgraben recently resumed its theatre operations in this venue steeped in history. In April, the stage will now again be transformed into a cinema hall for six days.
At the Cantate Hall and the other festival venues, Theater Willy Praml, DFF - Deutsches Filminstitut & Filmmuseum, Mal Seh'n Kino, Harmonie Kinos and the Parkside Studios in Offenbach, the program of the 13th LICHTER edition ranges from current world cinema focusing on the topic of "POWER" to the best films from Hesse and the Rhine-Main region.
