A Utopian Conversation with a Re-enactment of an Absurdist Piece of Theater that Actually Happened.

Neuralink, a brain chip company, is one of the least known ventures founded and headed by Elon Musk. It promises to make us one with the machine, one with one another, will negate our need for language, enable us to connect telepathically, allow us to control our memories, and make us super-human – just in time to cope with the AI gods we are creating. If that sounds like (bad) science fiction, well it should, but it's also the vision of Neuralink's founders.

Musk and Neuralink informed the public of their activities, early results and utopian aspirations in August 2020 during a live-streamed press event. Musk invited the leading researchers and venture capitalists financing the operation on stage, to envision a grand “Neuralink future”. The answers went from bewildering and bizarre to outright frightening and horrific.

The panel will re-enact some of the most absurd parts of the Neuralink press event and discuss the futures contained in these nightmarish dreams. A conversation about man/machine interfaces, religion, creativity, psychedelics, video games, telepathic consent, hope and death.
