LICHTER MOVES INTO THE CINEMA!
LICHTER needs a festival centre that shines as brightly as the cinemas themselves - those magical places that transport us to other worlds with their screens. Over the past 19 years, we have scoured every corner of Frankfurt for them. Legendary festival centres in the old Turmpalast cinema, on the former site of the Hypovereinsbank and in the former diamond exchange are just a few examples.
That's why we're bringing our 2026 festival centre back to a cinema building steeped in history: the E Kinos are back and Massif E is born! We'll just blow the dust off the lenses, switch the projectors back on and flood three of the familiar auditoriums with new light: the Elysee 1 & 2 and the Esplanade.
Opening hours of the festival center:
The festival center will be open during the festival week from the 28th of April to the 3rd of May.
The exact opening hours are still in decision and will be updated in due time.

But Frankfurt's cinema landscape will also shine in all its glory outside our festival centre during LICHTER week: the Kino des DFF, the Mal Seh'n Kino, the Pupille, the Filmforum Höchst, the naxos.Kino and the Eldorado Arthouse Kino are once again among our partner cinemas this year.

Parking possibilities by car
Adlerflychtstraße runs from Eckenheimer Landstraße to Oeder Weg. Parking in the Nordend is a matter of luck. The nearest parking garage is on Querstraße (Oeder Weg in the direction of the city center) and is about a ten-minute walk away.
