LICHTER goes Zoo-Gesellschaftshaus

LICHTER has found a new festival centre! From 03 to 08 April 2018, the Zoo Society House will be transformed into the "Zoo-Lichtspiele".

It is a film palace with a great cinema history: about 100 years ago, the first cultural film theatre in Frankfurt opened its doors in the Zoo-Gesellschaftshaus. Forty years later, the long-time zoo director and Oscar®-winning animal filmmaker Bernhard Grzimek continued this cinema tradition with the "Zoo-Lichtspiele". LICHTER will now revive this venue.

In addition to international films focusing on chaos, highlights of regional filmmaking and a series of selected highlights of the German film landscape, the festival also organizes the first Zukunft Deutscher Film congress in the temporary ""Zoo-Lichtspiele".
